Post first published in my personal newsletter I Broke my mom's snow globe when I was 8. After that I immediately told her what I did....
yeah right, of course, I didn't tell her. Like any smart kid I was going to cover it up. Without thinking, I grabbed the first piece of cloth I could find to mop up the mess before I could stop my hand, my moms favorite shirt was ruined. I ditched the shirt never to be seen again and cleaned up the glass. I found out glass was much sharper then it looks. I needed a band-aid. I was so stupid... if I had the chance I'd do it differently. I'm much smarter now. I would probably get away with it. Just digging into the character design for the grove story two. My process usually consists of a lot of scribbling in the beginning hoping to stumble on something cool. I like to come up with visuals before I write the story so I have a visual in my head of who I am writing. Usually works out.
I am excited and nervous at the same time but it should be a fun story! Hopefully it will be even better then story 1! Character Description: A hunter, come to town to trap/eliminate a problem wolf. After Junior High, I gave up on drawing, I just wasn't good enough.
I have found that most people want to do a lot of things. The daunting task of choosing one thing is paralyzing leaving them to do none. The weight of the decision grows with time. So make it quick.
Flip a coin if you have to. It doesn't matter which one you choose as long as you stick with it. If you walk north Monday then walk east Tuesday, south Wednesday... You have gained little ground. But walk north every day and you will be somewhere else entirely. I try to tell good stories, What do you do!? Post first published in my personal newsletter People learn differently. There are so many ways to bring in information, that it is silly to think that everyone learns just like you do. for instance. Rebecca and I despise reading. We are visual learners. This meant if I had a teacher who only talked, I would have to take notes. There was just no way I would remember anything said... I had to develop my writing so that I could learn from that teacher. Even better was learning hands on.
Geometry was a stupid class, I'd be ridiculous if I thought English was a silly class but I didn't learn much. I know for a fact, learning every bone in my body was a waste of my time. This was brought up last week by a friend. "Why don't schools teach taxes," and really why don't they? After high school, I was plopped out in the world like many of us with little real world business knowledge. Which is how every person makes the resources to feed themselves. Instead of death, he chose to take the black as a night swatchman, protecting humanity from horrors they prey never know.
Where you are today will be changed tomorrow. Time is unyielding. Don't let time lead you somewhere you don't want to be. Instead, set your goal and use time to attain it.
Time is a tool. Use it well. Post first published in my personal newsletter Recommendation by: Kelly Ehlers
I LOVE chopping down trees, and let's face it, it's a Tree, so who really cares. With this in mind I do have to say. I like this particular tree very much. this story does for nature, what Toy Story 3 does for Toys, and the art is ON POINT! The author, Shel Silverstein is a huge part of my childhood and probably yours too. It wasn't until this week I realized this is the same illustrator/artist who wrote "Where The Side Walk Ends" and "A Light in the Attic." These two books were essentials as a kid, for backyard camping, and now I realize why I liked this book so much. keeping up with a sketch a day is super difficult. I miss days all the time, but my goal remains every day.
I usually Make it easy on myself and set a time limit. I draw over lunch break for a half hour and it's painless. You just have to commit to it. The he best part about setting a timelimit for yourself (outside of lunch break) is you can keep going. The hard part is starting. So make it really easy to start. It takes a long time to get good at something. You will make silly mistakes along the way. Even mistakes that you tried to prevent. It just happens. The good news is, you probably won't repeat it! and thats how you get good at things.
